Passing of the spring - June 2026

First things first, haven’t put out anything new even tho i wanted and have had a coupe drafts lying around for a while but getting myself to just finishing it up has been just hard… didn’t really write much and even my own journal has been suffering which a bit correlates with my own mental health diving.

Work has been a chore, couple month to be honest with the need to either sleep or just escape into video games. I’m quite happy we got to build my new pc just before everything went to shit – not exactly comfortably, more of like catching last chopper out of ‘Nan type shit but hey may it last me 10 years ago, just will need to eventually get my own 64GB of ram. Even so im little bit sad i didn’t buy ssds earlier cuz the insane deals for 4TB or 8TB ssds might not appear ever again - and it helped me rediscover passion for computers and gaming, more below.

Life wise, it’s been mostly casual with both me and wife tired from work. I got my hair done in March almost on a whim and i really should get them done again and finally dyed, so many places where it could have served me so much. Cleaned apartment, build some shelves, threw away old ruined shoes and need to buy new ones, same thing for sundress and some harnesses and generally nicer summer clothes.

Attended local BDSM rave which i have been very anxious and nervous about but thanks to my wife and the domme friend who invited me, it’s been one of the best event i attended. Certainly giving me self confidence boost, new friends and contact which hopefully pan out for more in the future<3.

Also, went to coffee festival - yes very millennial i know - of local roaster-ries? which was mostly overwhelming but i guess they got tasty breakfast. The coffee was kinda all over the place, really good but nothing otherworldly and the one we liked the most roasts in our city and is used quite a lot in local shops so yayy i guess.

Basically no changes apart from cheeky copyright and slight tweet of the main header so that it sits in one line on QHD display. I got list of stuff i wanna do, going from css rewrite and simplification along with getting rid of bootstrap altogether to some nicer CI/CD on push since at the moment, it’s obsidian note -> copy to hugo website repo -> commit & psuh -> ssh onto server -> launch script which pulls and rebuilds and that just isn’t worthy solution of me. Technical stuff:

• meta tags for all pages (needed for functioning link preview!)
• add Draft/under-contructions
• add pipeline & trigger to rebuild on new content
• rewrite & simplify css
• change the nav bar across the top
• add svg material icons (calendar icon)

• fading in/out links to headings

I used to stick to only a handful of games but partially thanks to my wife, i got to try a lot more.

• Schedule I because drug tycoon game is what you needed and multiplayer is lot of fun
• Returned briefly into cities skyline for some slow expansion small villages merging into larger places and resolving the urbanist struggler is quite fun BUT also new politics election mod which auto enables you some policies coercing me to be aware of them and not just turn some on and forget
• Subway builder - got new update, tried a campaign in SF also because i was curious where what large tech companies headquarter and to get some aware where the fuck Stanford, Cupertino, Mountain View, Oakland, Berkeley or Palo Alto is. Basically see here for really good political map https://ian-r-rose.github.io/mapping-california-cities.html. Eventually wanna do run on Prague and surrounding areas and maybe LA?
• Deep Rock released new game Rogue Core which my wife forced to buy along with a friend and we played on the release and it was disaster, like it’s very much alpha game, devs have too much to fix, maybe worth to revisit around end of the year. Deep Rock Galactic is still really good, wanna hunt down some achievements and maybe unlock everything for all classes (im in like halfway through)
• GregTech New Horizon - do i have to say anything? 2.8 was massive QoL update and 2.9 is shaping to be even more insane thought in some ways maybe making it too easier? There’s certain magic in old school minecraft, particularly old school modded with IC2 and GregTech and Galacticraft and redpower, ender IO - yes, the ender chests and tanks with colour codes! - which is sometimes finicky and unclear and you just have to trust the process or work around and when you upgrade to better stuff, you get relieve happiness instead of “better bigger number yayy”.
• Plan B Terraform - wife went down rabbit hole of rocketry again and poisoned me with an urge to play some Mars Terraforming game but not like colony sim but really something with world simulation and shaping the environment, growing couple colonies into cities and such. Well, this is like factorio, very simplified down to basic logistics with great emphasis on the terraformation, pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere for higher temps, resulting in snow melt and formation of rivers and oceans. Very high level yet very satisfying.
• A&A, RTS from 2004 published by Atari - played as kid, it’s more unique game, was replaying the campaign since i didn’t get through all the missions back then.
• Avatar Frontiers of Pandora - the prettiest game i have ever played and the one game where Ubisoft formula works exceptionally well and as Avatar used to be my chuunibyou¹ with learning Na’vi conlang and all, anyways. After watching the recent third sequel, it was nice to be finally able to feel like i am part of the world. I played it a lot on the cloudy cold days and it swallowed me so much i mentally skipped like a week at some point - also helped i tried to larp a bit and stay in the characters with all the complicated emotions i harboured within and rediscovered.
